JavaScript Window Navigator
The window.navigator
object provides information about the browser environment in which the current web page is running.
window.navigator
is a read-only property that returns a reference to the Navigator
object, which contains several properties and methods that can be used to get or set various information about the browser, such as the user agent, platform, language, and plugins.
Here are some of the most commonly used properties of the window.navigator object:
navigator.userAgent
: returns the user agent string of the browser, which contains information about the browser type, version, and operating system.navigator.platform
: returns the platform (operating system) on which the browser is running, such as "Windows", "MacOS", "Linux", etc. navigator.language: returns the language of the browser interface, in the form of a two-letter language code (e.g., "en" for English, "fr" for French, etc.).navigator.plugins
: returns an array of Plugin objects representing the browser plugins installed on the user's computer.navigator.cookieEnabled
: returns a boolean value indicating whether cookies are enabled in the browser.navigator.onLine
: returns a boolean value indicating whether the browser is currently connected to the internet.navigator.sendBeacon()
: a method that allows web pages to asynchronously send data to a server using HTTP POST requests, even if the user navigates away from the page or closes the browser window.navigator.userAgentData
: returns an object containing information about the browser's user agent, including the browser name, version, and whether it is in "quirks mode" (i.e., not fully compliant with web standards).
Here's an example of how to use the navigator.userAgent
property to get the user agent string of the browser:

In this example:

You can also use the navigator.geolocation
property to get the user's current location (latitude and longitude), if the user has granted permission for the browser to access their location:
